Our Lady of Lourdes acknowledges parents and carers as each student’s most influential, primary and essential educators.
We encourage parents to be actively involved in school life and work with us to ensure the best educational outcomes for your child.
Parents are also actively encouraged to attend school events such as sports carnivals, exhibitions and performance evenings.
How can I contribute?
We encourage parental involvement in the spiritual and academic life of our school through an open invitation to be involved with:
- liturgy and prayer
- fundraising
- social justice initiatives
- sports carnivals
- workshops on parenting skills
- kindy orientation and information sessions
- Parent Group - meetings are held twice a term in our library.
We also run 'Parents as Educators' courses which up-skill parents to be able to assist teachers in the classroom as well as support their own children's learning at home. Completion of these courses allows parents to volunteer to help with reading, writing, maths, computers and gross motor programs.
Show your children that volunteering is a good thing.
Speak with our friendly staff today and let them know you’re interested in becoming a parent volunteer.
Volunteer and Contractor Training
We welcome the contribution volunteers make to the life of our school.
As part of our commitment to keeping students safe, all volunteers in schools are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module before volunteering. These checks reduce potential risk and forms part of our strategy to build child safe communities.
